In recognition of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation on September 30, I’ve created a special bonus list featuring 50+ grant opportunities for Indigenous communities and initiatives across Canada.

Here you’ll find grants that support youth and education, mentorship programs, cultural and language revitalization, housing and community infrastructure, wellness and healing initiatives, and environmental and climate action projects.

In honour of this day, Indigenous-led organizations are invited to access The Grant Circle free for their first month (available until October 31, 2025). If your organization is Indigenous-led or primarily serves Indigenous communities, you’re welcome to claim your free month here.

Indspire – Building Brighter Futures: Bursaries & Scholarships

Description: A national Indigenous-led bursary and scholarship program that provides financial support for First Nations, Inuit, and Métis students pursuing post-secondary education.

Deadline: Three application deadlines each academic cycle: August 1, November 1, and February 1 at 11:59 PM Eastern Time. One application remains active for the full September–August academic year.

Eligibility: Open to Indigenous students across Canada enrolled in full-time (≥ 60% course load) post-secondary or skilled trades programs.

Location: Nation-wide.

Amount: Varies based on assessed financial need, academic merit, community involvement, and availability of funds.

TELUS Indigenous Communities Fund

Description: Provides one-time flexible grants to Indigenous-led programs across Canada, supporting areas such as health and mental well-being, education access, land and water preservation, community enhancement, and intergenerational language or cultural revitalization.

Deadline: September 10 to October 9, 2025 (or until the first 200 applicants are received)

Eligibility: Open to Indigenous-led organizations, including band councils, Indigenous governments, representative groups, community groups, and non-profits.

Location: Nation-wide.

Amount: Up to $25,000 per project.
